Your IIDA Chapter is a 100% volunteer-run organization. As an IIDA member, you have the exclusive opportunity to participate in a volunteer or leadership capacity at the local or regional level. Getting involved is personally rewarding, will grow your leadership skills, and is a special opportunity to have an impact on your design community.

CHAPTER COMMITTEES OVERVIEW
Membership Team - Advocate for the value of IIDA membership, assist prospective and existing members with questions, organize annual membership drives and campaign.
Sponsorship Team - Coordinate annual Benefactor drive campaign, Benefactor Breakfast event, and ongoing benefit fulfillment.
Advocacy Committees - Create programming that supports interior design legislation, diversity within the profession, and promotes awareness of interior design to the public.
Professional Development Committees - Promote certification examinations, coordinate study courses, CEUs, and any other events to assist with member career success.
Student Affairs Team - Provide events for local interior design students and serve as their primary IIDA connection.
Communications Team - Use your creative input to maintain Chapter website, Facebook account, Instagram feed, Linkedin page, YouTube channel, blog, career postings, and newsletter. Create promotional graphics for events and campaigns.
City Centers - Plan local events, lead volunteers, and create budgets.
Planning Committees & Event Volunteers - Influence IIDA events in your area.
Executive Team - Guide the Chapter in fulfilling its mission, lead a team of incredible volunteers, and network internationally with other Chapter leaders.

important things to note:
CHAPTER VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AN ACTIVE IIDA MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING. TO QUALIFY FOR A BOARD OR DIRECTOR POSITION, CANDIDATES MUST BE AN ACTIVE IIDA MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING FOR AT LEAST 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING ELECTION OR APPOINTMENT. THE CHAPTER BOARD SELECTS THE SLATE OF CANDIDATES FOR THE MEMBERSHIP TO VOTE ON.
ALL BOARD MEMBER AND DIRECTOR TERMS ARE FROM THE IIDA CALENDAR YEAR FROM JULY 1 THROUGH JUNE 30. ALL CHAPTER VICE PRESIDENTS SHALL BE ELECTED FOR ONE TwO-YEAR TERM. THE PRESIDENT AND PRESIDENT-ELECT SHALL BE ELECTED FOR ONE ONE-YEAR TERM AND CANNOT SERVE MORE THAN ONE CONSECUTIVE FULL TERM IN OFFICE. OTHER CHAPTER OFFICERS MAY SERVE A MAXIMUM OF TWO CONSECUTIVE one-year TERMS IN OFFICE.
BOARD MEMBERS AND DIRECTORS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HOLD ACTIVE OFFICE OR EMPLOYMENT BY ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL DESIGN ORGANIZATION DURING THEIR TERM WITH IIDA.
