ADVOCACY THROUGH LEGISLATION

For over 20 years IIDA Members have advanced the quality of life for their clients and the public by creating interior spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional, safe, and building code compliant – from state-of-the-art cancer treatment facilities to sustainable renovations of multi-story condominium complexes.

Whether you would like to get involved in a local election, or advance the knowledge of your clients and the public, IIDA Advocacy provides you the tools you need to leave a lasting impact on the policy process.

Our Chapter’s advocacy initiatives focuses on legislation that advances the profession of interior design and campaigns that promote awareness. You can make a lasting impact on your industry and the quality of the built environment around you by joining us in our advocacy efforts.

LOCAL LEGISLATIVE COALITIONS

The vision of the Interior Design Legislative Coalition of Pennsylvania (IDLCPA) is to advance the interior design profession in Pennsylvania by becoming the next jurisdiction to achieve occupational recognition through professional regulation. IDLCPA is dedicated to pursing the regulated practice of interior design professionals; recognizing the occupation protects and enhances the health, safety and welfare of people occupying interior space.

The State of New Jersey passed the INTERIOR DESIGNER CERTIFICATION ACT which is a Title Act for Interior Designers. It regulates the "title" of "Certified Interior Designer" in the state of New Jersey. The New Jersey Coalition for Interior Design Legislation (NJCIDL) is a not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the interior design profession through licensing and regulation.
